Physical Health
While reading this article I was shocked but also expected this at the same time. I do not believe that this article is exaggerating the situation one bit. Across America today parents and coaches are pushing their child and teen athletes to the limit. This does not just apply to baseball, football and soccer, this "epidemic" spans across all athletic sports! I am very involved with the sport of Equestrian (horseback riding) and I see parents pushing their kids to win and ride the better and better at ages as young as 5! Today parents are taking the fun out of sports and making it harder for kids to enjoy themselves. Ever teen needs a little push here and there but it has gone overboard. Are parents living vicariously through their kids? Or do they truly want them to be the best they can be? I guess we will never really know.

TIK TOK- Ke$ha
Wake up in the morning feeling like P Diddy(Hey, what up girl?)
Grab my glasses, I'm out the door, I'm gonna hit this city
(Lets go)
Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack
'Cause when I leave for the night, I ain't coming back
I'm talking pedicure on our toes, toes
Trying on all our clothes, clothes
Boys blowing up our phones, phones
Drop-topping, playing our favorite CDs
Pulling up to the parties
Trying to get a little bit tipsy
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock, on the clock
But the party don't stop, no
Ain't got a care in world, but got plenty of beer
Ain't got no money in my pocket, but I'm already here
And now, the dudes are lining up cause they hear we got swagger
But we kick em to the curb unless they look like Mick Jagger
I'm talking about everybody getting crunk, crunk
Boys tryin' to touch my junk, junk
Gonna smack him if he getting too drunk, drunk
Now, now, we go until they kick us out, out
Or the police shut us down, down
Police shut us down, down
Po-po shut us
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no
DJ, you build me up
You break me down
My heart, it pounds
Yeah, you got me

With my hands up
You got me now
You got that sound
Yeah, you got me
DJ, you build me up
You break me down
My heart, it pounds
Yeah, you got me
With my hands up
Put your hands up
Put your hands up
Now, the party don't start 'til I walk in
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no
Don't stop, make it pop
DJ, blow my speakers up
Tonight, I'mma fight
'Til we see the sunlight
Tick tock on the clock
But the party don't stop, no
TikTok is a popular song by adolescents today for a couple of reasons. The song has a catchy beat and rhythm is exciting. She is an up and coming popular artist. She is new and fresh. This appeals to teens very much. They like new ideas and being different and finding themselves. As far as the lyrics are concerned, many teenagers are into having fun and partying. These lyrics talk about going out with your friends and letting loose and just having a great time and for the most part adolescents are doing just that. Plus it's a great song to dance to! :)

Male/Female Sexual Behavior
So I looked through a couple magazines. One geared towards males and one geared more towards females. Both had the same concept in mind but they portrayed them differently. In the male magazine I focused on the advertisement for Axe shampoos and body washes. Their slogan was " How dirty boys get clean". They show girls "flocking" towards boys because of their use of the product. This product gives the idea and almost praises boys for having multiple girls chasing after them. On the other hand the CoverGirl ad focuses on girls having more of a reserved sexuality, and being more subtle with it. There is just one girl in the ad who is "flirting" with just the reader and not a bunch of other people. It is very interesting how the sexuality for boys and girls are portrayed differently, and how boys are praised for having multiple "partners" It is almost a double standard.

Identity
Based on the article I believe that boys are facing the bigger crisis because of one huge factor, the set up of the school system. Because the school system is set up and geared more towards "sit down, read this" style of learning young boys have a difficult time staying focused. Their overactive minds need physical stimulation in order to keep them on the right track. More hands-on work would definitely benefit males tremendously, in my opinion. For this main reason I think boys are facing the bigger crisis.

Moral Development
I do not think that the Heinz Dilemma is an appropriate scenario to test an adolescents view of their moral development. There are a couple reasons why. One is because Heinz is desperate to save his wife. Many if not any adolescents have found someone or something that they care about so much to do whatever they needed to save them. Heinz loves his wife so much that he breaks into the store to steal the drug. Another factor that is wrong with this situation is that many adolescents love money in saying that many of them will side with the the doctor because he is only out for the money and not helping someone else. I think it would be rare to see a teenage who wanted to side with Heinz when they really have had little to know feelings that he has in scenario.

Cognitive Development
After reviewing Nintendo's website for their game "Brainage" I do think that it will actually improve cognitive development. I have never played the game but from the sounds of it and what I have heard, it really does test you and make you challenge yourself. I think the fact that it makes you read the phrases out loud is key because not only are you using you brain quickly but you are also using multiple senses at once. The fact that it tests you at a rapid pace really exercises your brain. This goes along with the "use it or lose it" concept we talked about in class. I would recommend parents to buy their adolescents this game because it does test them and give them skills and knowledge but it also makes it fun and competitive for them.

Biological Influences
After reviewing the girls' underwear sections on the Macy's website I slightly surprised but also some expectations of mine rang true. The section was for girls ages 7-16, so there was a wide variety of products to choose from. There were very youthful, colorful underwear but also some products for young women. In my opinion padded bras and seamless underwear are not a bad thing. Yes, they do enhance and hide somethings but I think what is more important is what is worn ABOVE those bras and panties. Padded bras do makes a girls bust appear bigger but if it helps a girl feel more confident about herself and her body I do not see the harm. As we grow up and learn about the human body, we all know what's under a girls clothes essentially, so once again I think what is more important are the low-cut or tight fitting tops that girls' wear over their underwear.
